For the past decade and a half, I have felt a conviction and calling to the helping profession. Beginning with an undergraduate degree in Youth Leadership and a subsequent career in youth work, I returned to school in 2013 and completed a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trinity Western University (ACTS) in the Summer of 2016. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and have a deep passion for working with clients, couples and families of all ages. Starting from a Family Systems perspective, my approach to therapy also draws upon the Satir Model as well as attachment theory-based models like Emotionally Focused Therapy and the Neufeld model. I am passionate about existentialism and like to incorporate aspects of Narrative therapy into my work. I wholeheartedly believe in Re.Pose's meta-goals for therapy as empowering clients to be more responsible, be better choice makers, be more congruent, and have higher self-esteem.
"The most valuable and important things in my life came to me when I cultivated the courage to be vulnerable, imperfect, and self-compassionate" (Brene Brown, 2012). I believe counselling can be instrumental in this journey towards cultivating the courage necessary to be vulnerable, imperfect, and self-compassionate - all things that truly allow us to live lives where we can feel seen, heard, and valued. I have known this journey and feel honoured to walk alongside of others in the process.
